| CLUTTERED, SLOW WEBSITE HAMPERED GROWING ASSOCIATION; WEBSITE NEEDED A COMPLETE OVERHAUL, PLUS INTEGRATION TO CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM |
| Challenge |
| As a membership-services organization, Help Desk Institute needed to ensure its website provided a high degree of value to members and served as an effective marketing tool for prospective members. However, the website had grown significantly over the years in both content and functionality. Both the front-end presentation and back-end programming of the site needed a complete overhaul. |
| Before |
| On the front-end, the tremendous amount of useful information was disorganized and confusing. On the back-end, the site's original ASP code had become difficult to maintain, was poorly optimized, and had begun to negatively impact site performance. |
| Solution |
| visionbox strategized and launched a completely rebuilt, reorganized, and redesigned website. HDI's new site organizes the information elegantly: Prospective members and other visitors comfortably use the intuitive navigation, while members access their content in a centralized members-only area. |
| In addition to creating an entirely new user-interface design and information architecture, visionbox completely re-architected the site. We used Microsoft .NET technologies to build a solid, scalable foundation for HDI's new website. |
| We also integrated features of the website's core membership functions with HDI's back-end customer relationship management (CRM) system. Developing clear, easy-to-maintain functionality was key. After completion, we conducted a knowledge transfer so HDI's in-house IT department could maintain the website. |
| The result? A visually appealing website that allows users to quickly and easily find the content they need and a website that will continue to support HDI's evolving marketing and membership needs. |
