U.S. Anti-Doping Agency
100% ME, U.S. ANTI-DOPING AGENCY
FUN WEBSITE FOR YOUTH ENTERTAINS AND EDUCATES, HELPING AGENCY MEET SERIOUS GOALS
Challenge
The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency's education department, in partnership with Scholastic, Inc., launched a Youth in Sports initiative to educate fifth graders about doping in sports, ethics, decision making, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles. This initiative supports USADA's long-term business objective to educate youth and curb this disturbing problem.
Solution
The new website educates American youth about doping in sports, with the content presented in visually appealing and entertaining ways. To compliment a planned curriculum and printed materials, visionbox created the "100% Me" website targeting 8 to 15 year olds. The site's educational content covers five modules:
  • Time Traveler – Presents the history of doping in sports.
  • You Choose – Discusses ethics and decision making.
  • The Great Pyramid – Explains healthy nutrition.
  • Be a Detective – Discusses healthy lifestyle and the truth about supplements.
  • SomeBODY – Shows and explains the different body types.
To keep kids engaged at the site, visionbox incorporated video, designed and created interactive games, and developed a series of exercises. Making the site entertaining while meeting the business objective was paramount: help kids learn about doping and side effects, help them make appropriate decisions, and help them be responsible.
While fun for youth who visit, this website accomplishes a serious business objective: educate athletes of the future.
